Does the bike I get on the cycle to work scheme have to be for me?

The short answer here is yes.

The bike you get via the cycle to work scheme is for you to use, and the majority of its use needs to be for work-related commuting and trips.

However, that does not mean that friends and family (with your permission) can not occasionally use your bike. It just means that the bikes primary user needs to be the person receiving the tax relief.

This means that you should only apply for a bike (or bikes) where you yourself will be the primary user.

🚨 Please note

Children's bikes are strictly prohibited on the scheme.
