Can you get second hand bikes on the cycle to work scheme?
Where an ex-demo bike comes from a Cyclescheme partner retailer and is supplied with a 12 month warranty, it is allowable to get a refurbished bike via Cyclescheme.

Although either the employer or Cyclescheme (dependant on scheme set-up) are the owners of the equipment throughout the Hire Period, the responsibility for maintaining the bicycle remains the participants.
The Hire Agreement states that “you must ensure the Equipment is used safely and maintained properly in accordance with any instructions provided by the manufacturer(s) of the Equipment and/or by the relevant Cyclescheme Partner Retailer”.
It is therefore in your best interest that the equipment is covered by a retailer or manufacturer warranty to ensure that you do not incur costs for faults that occur during the initial Hire Period.
